Kahlil Gibran on Giving

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
~Kahlil Gibran from The Prophet

For many, to give there must be a “reason” and/or a “purpose” for giving. There must be some emotional sense of gratification in the giving. Most live as very small–minded people who simply do what they WANT when and if they believe there is some sort of emotional pay off for everything and or anything they do.

So many have lost sight of compassion and its tenderness, as they have fallen to the hypocrisy of social politeness (i.e. political correctness) This prevents them from being authentic and compassionate, which would free them to live more consciously. There is no patience for that which seems to inconvenience the ego; there is no reasoning with the ego nor the emotions that control it.

Giving is very hard for people…even giving a small measure of respect to those who are in need is difficult for most. This is due to our relationship with Love. If we are unwilling to put ourselves in the place of another, if we are not even kind enough to put aside our opinions for the sake of caring for another person in need, then the intrinsic is lost and we become subject to a certain kind of Karma that will teach us many lessons through the folly of humiliation.

As Gibran states: “It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” This is the very essence of finding the goodness of your own being. When you GIVE you send out the INTRINSIC to the world and as the Buddha stated: “Many do not know that we are here in this world to live in harmony.” It is only in your giving that you find the link to harmony. Giving is the breath out of our living and when we find our rhythm in giving, we find the path to Love as a matter of simplicity. We make everything so complicated and difficult because we live in great fear of not only money, but Love. We WANT Love, but we do not care to LIVE as Love. We WANT so much…that Love cannot enter into us.

Forgiveness and Love go hand in hand - live as forgiveness and you will find that you will naturally GIVE

Live in a way where YOU are unoffended by anything the ego takes offense to - breathe through your day and live in the compassion that allows you to know the Heart of Life as KINDNESS

Walk as forgiveness where nothing offends you, nothing has to be a drama - your Heart will open and you will find the meaning of Love as HARMONY
