Survival of the Fittest

Survival Of The Fittest

Don't become undone by fear and trembling, but take it as a message that it's time to stop struggling and look directly at what's threatening you. ~ Pema Chodron

As humans we live devoid of our spiritual nature and function entirely by the order of our survival instincts, grinding away at “surviving” until we die of exhaustion. We are killing each ourselves and others trying to become the “fittest” on earth so we can survive the longest, never questioning our motives and methods.

We enjoy the delusion that we can live to maintain our survival at all costs without becoming corrupt. Gaining advantage by exploiting the weaknesses of others who are less capable only creates division and defeats our ability to harmonize with the energies of Life.

A society based solely on money and power advocates survival of the fittest as the only matter of living. We like to think that money is power because it can “buy” the favors of those who are greedy and insecure. But Life has nothing to do with money or power. Money is energy…and the real “power” of money is Love. Not love for what money can “buy” or “obtain” for us, but the power of Love that can move through money.

We have made life a matter of survival and not the beauty of living. To live one must be willing to experience the Tao. ~ Siraj

The Tao is the quantum theory of spiritual living, the fundamental source of LIFE itself. In conscious living, we are no longer driven by our fear of survival. We are more interested in how energy works and how it can work us!

The Tao is the absolute principle and underlying truth of the natural order of all Life, which is HARMONY. The teachings of the Tao create an awareness of the energies of Life and how to follow these energies into the deeper meaning of Love. I offer this simple statement from the Tao – a sutra that is all encompassing and pertains to living beyond the human survival instincts that entail only cruelty and useless suffering:

Understand the trust of the yang,
but be more like the yin in your Being.

Be like a valley
that parts to its stream;
Be like a stream
for the earth…
And channel it,
so it flows to the sea.
Be newborn, be free of yourself,
be humble, be earthy,
be a valley for the whole world.

Be a channel for the energies here,
weave them in a true and practical way
so they can link up with the Way and become one again.

Oneness generates everything.
When the sage rules in the light of it,
he rules everything.

A wise man never tries to break up the Whole.

We strain to survive because we do not understand the basic principle of our universe: The Unity of Opposites. Every element on this Earth has an opposite to which it is connected. For example: hot and cold, wet and dry – these opposites hold both yin and yang, which creates the ENERGY that allows them to exist. As the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, once stated: “The road up and the road down are the same thing.” The road exists because it can go “up” and at the same time it can go “down” – this is what makes it THE ROAD.

When we are willing to unite our opposites we create within us the FLOW. ~ Siraj

Within everything we do is the energy of the Yin (female) and the Yang (male). The objective is to realize the unity of both, regardless of the seeming duality of their natures, and keep them parallel in order to allow their energies to work in harmony within us. We suffer because we are not in harmony within.

To create the FLOW all we need do is keep our inner attentions focused upon the Yin while trusting the Yang – as we follow the stream (the small) to the sea (the infinite) we are reborn free of our fearful selves. Then we can become a channel for the energies of Life to weave their way into our moment-to-moment living and guide us back to the Way of ONENESS.

If we work the Tao, it will work our life.
If we ignore the Tao, we are left to working for mere survival our entire lifetime until our work kills us.

Instead of sitting and reading philosophies or watching ideas on a screen, learn how to sit quietly and drop the perimeters of a convoluted mind that can only perceive the “meaning” of anything through fear. All human thought originates from the fear of survival, which is why this world is what it is. Nothing we can “think” will help us comprehend the meaning of our lives.

Our whole life has been based on thoughts that are filled with presumption and arrogance, which have nothing to do with our authentic nature – Love. The Tao and Love are one and the same.

By becoming passive to perception and opinion, and allowing for spiritual awareness to enter into us despite its seeming illogic, we sustain consciousness. It is only through consciousness that we find the Loving insight to follow the Heart and allow it to cleanse us of our deep desire for “survival”…so that we can Live as Love.

Understanding the Tao is like understanding empty sky - an empty sky cannot be understood, it can only be experienced - Open up to the sky!

Go outside, lie on your back and gaze at the sky - allow it to envelop you totally

IMBIBE the sky without the need for thoughts that create separation from the EXPERIENCE that is the sky

Practice dropping the mind in this simple way to invite a new mind to arise - a mind no longer fighting to survive, but rather living into Life itself through the Tao
